Lead Appliance Technician — Sub-Zero / Wolf Certified
Lead the Hype Appliance Repair field team. Diagnose and repair premium built-in appliances (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Miele) and standard residential appliances across all major brands. Mentor junior technicians, perform in-home diagnostics, complete repairs in single visits, and own the customer experience from doorbell to invoice. This is a hands-on lead role — 80% field work, 20% coaching and quality review.
About this role
Lead the Hype Appliance Repair field team. Diagnose and repair premium built-in appliances (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Miele) and standard residential appliances across all major brands. Mentor junior technicians, perform in-home diagnostics, complete repairs in single visits, and own the customer experience from doorbell to invoice. This is a hands-on lead role — 80% field work, 20% coaching and quality review.
What you'll do
- Perform 4–6 in-home appliance repairs per day across Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen, and surrounding areas
- Diagnose appliance failures accurately on first visit; carry and use OEM parts inventory on truck
- Provide flat-rate upfront quotes to customers before any work begins
- Mentor 1–2 junior technicians on diagnostic methodology and brand-specific quirks
- Complete digital work orders, photos, and warranty paperwork on a tablet before leaving the job site
- Stand behind all repairs with our 90-day warranty — return trips are free
- Participate in weekly team huddles and quarterly factory training (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Bosch)
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of paid appliance repair experience (residential, multi-brand)
- Active Texas TDLR Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Contractor License (TACL) — or ability to obtain within 60 days
- EPA 608 Universal certification (we will sponsor if you have Type I & II)
- Sub-Zero Group Factory-Certified (or 2+ years documented Sub-Zero/Wolf warranty work)
- Clean driving record (last 3 years) and valid Texas driver license
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Own basic hand tools (we provide specialty tools, vacuum pump, recovery equipment, and parts)
- Smartphone with data plan (we provide the dispatch tablet)
Nice to have
- Bilingual English/Spanish (40% of our DFW customer base prefers Spanish)
- Bosch Factory-Certified or GE Monogram Certified
- Experience with Samsung digital inverter compressors and LG direct-drive systems
- Prior experience using ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, or RepairShopr
